Nerd News: Series 2 of Funko NFTs Heads to Wax – Bob’s Big Boy

When I first reported about Funko NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens) I wasn’t sold on the idea… Until I got some myself, and I have to say that they do have their own appeal and it is a great way to potentially invest in a crypto currency. So this time around I have to say that I’m pretty excited and hope that this time I can actually get my own packs from the offset – if you have the same idea get there quick as they will no doubt sell out in minutes again like they did last time with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. This time we are getting the first ad icon for a Funko NFT as they tackle Bob’s Big Boy.

The Big Boy is one of my all time favorite ad icons pops so that’s part of the reason why I’m actually really looking forward to this virtual drop which will once again have 2 pack types (this time it looks like there won’t be any promo packs).

There is a standard pack containing 5 NFTs for $9.99 and there will be 15,000 of these packs sold and then a premium pack for %29.99 which will contain 15 NFTs, with 5,000 of these packs available.

Even the packs look cool don’t they? What I wouldn’t give to see Funko release real world version of these cards! Within these packs though there will be 5 different rarities for the cards which are as follows:

  • Common (46.33% chance)
  • Uncommon (30% chance)
  • Rare (16% chance)
  • Epic (6% chance)
  • Legendary (1% chance)
  • Grail (0.67% chance)

With those last two (the legendary and grail) there is the possibility to exchange these for a physical special edition pop figure!

Packs will go live on Wax at 2pm EST on 31st August.

I'm a collector of pop culture items, with by far my biggest collection being in excess of 1,200 DVDs (yeah I still stay old school - can't wrap my head around the whole streaming thing yet), as well as various figures and Memorabilia (with most of these being McFarlane Walking Dead 5 inch figures, Funko Pop and Funko Pint Size Heroes, with a few other exceptions too). I'm a massive nerd and giant child at heart so feel free to have a chat about anything toy and movie related. My biggest movie passions are horror by far (especially slasher and zombie), sci fi and to a lesser extent action and comedy.
