This site has been running for right around 22 months now and I have to say that I am absolutely over the moon with the response which it has add. On a daily basis, the number of people visiting the site is around the 400 mark and its a number which is constantly on the rise, so thank you all for helping make this happen. When you’re a subscriber or just come now and again for your dose of nerd news or maybe some of my other content too – I appreciate you!
This is site is just something which I run in my spare time and do for fun. Even though I have sections for advertising etc I actually have so far never withdrawn a single penny of income from it or received sample products etc… it really is a labor of love for me – but of course if you ever want to send in something to be reviewed I won’t say no!
As the title suggests I am going to list below some of my absolute favorite announcements which I have been able to make through the nerd news segment, but first I’ll let you know some of the absolute most popular content on this whole site – who knows, maybe you didn’t realize that some of this sort of content is on here and I hope it will encourage you to explore the site a bit more!
- How to spot and avoid fake Funko pop figures
- Samuel L Jackson’s Monologue at the End of Pulp Fiction (Ezekiel 25:17)
- Should I keep my Funko pop figure in the box?
- What do the numbers on Funko pop boxes mean?
- Every Funko soda figure ever made
- All of Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann’s marching cadences / chants from Full Metal Jacket
- How many of each Funko pop figure are produced?
- Are Funko pop figures with errors collectible?
- Buying autographs direct from celebrities through their official websites
- TOPPS Virtual Trading Cards
But that’s not the focus of this particular little piece… I want to go back and let you know some of the biggest announcements which I was able to make over the past 22 months… Well actually scrap that – these announcements might not all be that big and certainly none of them will be as well looked at as the announcement about the Dead Pool collector crops box delays! These are the announcements which have been biggest for me – which I have been most excited about!
I’m going to aim for ten and these are in no particular order – but it might end up being more, depending on how excited and carried away I get!

I’m a huge lover of nature so I was very upset by the misery caused to the wildlife during the Australian bush fires around that time and seeing this figure come up with support going to the RSPCA in Australia was just so nice to see. Plus it genuinely turned out to be one of my absolute favorite pops of all time (easily in the top 5 I say).

Sadly I don’t actually have a Chomp on my collection yet (I really must change that at some point), even though they are incredibly cool figures. In fact I’ve actually never even seen one in person before. All I do know is that this guy was the first version of him which i saw and I absolutely fell in love. With just 250 made of course I didn’t get a sniff in though!

I actually already have mine on pre-order and even paid the insane shipping price to get it to the UK. I haven’t collected Living Dead Dolls for years now but this one I just could not say no to. Out of everything I have on pre-order I think this is the one I’m most excited about. The Bubble head nurse from Silent hill is an absolute icon of horror and I think they’ve done such an amazing job with these.

Its no secret that I absolutely adore Fallout, so the chance to see this game possibly get made in to a streaming show on Amazon Prime is almost too much to handle… The wasteland is absolutely made for television!

I’m a huge fan of Lora Zombie anyway and her vinyl toy unicorn I have in my collection signed is one of the coolest things I have, so i was so excited to see my love for her art and pop culture collide on this amazing art range.

Some of my absolute favorite Funko pop figures are ones which they make in order to either raise money for a certain cause or raise awareness of an issue. These figures were made to thank and make a donation towards front line workers during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic working for the health service. I have the full collection and I still absolutely love them!

I wasn’t able to snag anything on this auction for myself as it was all out of my price range, but the caliber of quality of these products and the sheer variety was an absolute spectacle to see. These lots included true Hollywood history and I don’t know when we’ll see the likes of it get auctioned off again!

This was exciting for me because it was the first time I had heard about this project and it lead on to me being able to interview the guys involved and follow the story a little. It’s such an amazing project with such amazing people that I really look forward to seeing more from them in the future. I know that COVID affected things like filming and the perks from this campaign a little but still their determination for this project has been inspirational.

I actually have the storm trooper one in my collection now and hope to get more in the future, but finding out that these were actually going to be a thing was so exciting as it took 2 things I love – Star Wars and Lego and made something which just looks incredible… These helmet designs are very cool anyway and they’ve done a great job at making them look right!

This is a bit of a naughty one from Jaxx but at the same time it really does retain that sense of fragility and innocence, which just makes this a really nice cool sexy product… nice job combining all of these on a Disney figure!
6th May 2021
I love Fallout, TUBBZ and Nuka Cola, so to see an announcement where all 3 of these had collided was just amazing for me and I can’t wait to get kine in the mail! I was actually planning on customizing one of the TUBBZ power armors myself to look like this (my vision was a bit more dirty and gritty) so I’m kind of glad to see that i won’t need to try and do that!
30th December 2019
I hadn’t heard of either Brack Metal or Jubi before this point, so seeing this monster of a crab Kaiju whilst scrolling through Instagram was an absolute treat and I’ve been hooked on their insane designs ever since!
30th April 2021
I’m a big fan of Numskull as a company and they always have some seriously cool looking products, and this new line of DOOM vinyl figures is absolutely no change from the norm for them. They’re over 6 inches tall and look absolutely stunning! Why is it that bethesda products always end up looking so incredible?

Snyder is a great director although I think some times people do big him up a little too much and the whole hype around the Snyder Cut actually hurt the final product which for me really didn’t live up to the hype… However seeing him go back to his zombie days is something very exciting indeed. Seeing David Bautista on board too is even better. I love the Walking Dead, but that has gone all sorts of shades of stale these days, so this really looks like a fresh kick in the teeth for the zombie genre and I cannot wait!
What was your favorite piece of nerd news from the last 1,000 pages… 22 months or so! And if it’s nothing which I have mentioned, what huge nerd news do you think I have missed on here?
Thanks again for sticking with me all this time, and here’s to the next 1,000 posts and 2 more years!
