Nerd News: 2021 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards Coming to Shudder 18th April

On 18th April the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards – celebrating everything horror and gore, will be premiering exclusively on Shudder at 8pm ET and between Shudder and Fangoria they have recently announced the hosts!

The main host of the show as a whole will be writer and actor David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight & Ant Man and the Wasp), who will be backed up throughout the evening by special guest hosts Keith David, Gigi Saul Guerrero, Issa Lopez, Kevin Smith, Tananarive Due, Doug Jones, James Jude Courtney, Biqtch Puddin, Jason Blum and down right legend of the genre and screen in general, Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween and Scream Queens).

The Chainsaw Awards have been around since 1992 and I for one am absolutely over the moon to see them become a proper event – something to get excited about with the help of Shudder – a sentiment Fangoria editor Phil Nobile Jr. shares; “The Chainsaw Awards are an institution in horror, having existed in the magazine since 1992. Bringing them back as an actual event has been a dream, and airing them on Shudder is something we’ve been working toward since we resurrected the magazine,”

I'm a collector of pop culture items, with by far my biggest collection being in excess of 1,200 DVDs (yeah I still stay old school - can't wrap my head around the whole streaming thing yet), as well as various figures and Memorabilia (with most of these being McFarlane Walking Dead 5 inch figures, Funko Pop and Funko Pint Size Heroes, with a few other exceptions too). I'm a massive nerd and giant child at heart so feel free to have a chat about anything toy and movie related. My biggest movie passions are horror by far (especially slasher and zombie), sci fi and to a lesser extent action and comedy.
