Nerd News: Funko SDCC Announcements Part 1

Yesterday Funko finished announcing the first wave of San Diego Comic Con Virtual Con exclusive pops with more due to be announced later today! With the first one being the SDCC toucan which is going to be a little more difficult to get!

The 1,000 piece limited edition red astronaut toucan will be distributed only through the Comic-Con Museum. Sign-up now or upgrade to a Tier 4 or Tier 5 Charter Membership to get one using the link below:

From the world of gaming there will be a Sega Sonic the hedgehog double pack, 2 flocked pokemon and Rippley from Fortnite… He looks like he has a partly translucent helmet, which will look great if he does.

The pop rocks range is getting a new addition in the form of Steve Aoki, but I have to say that had they not put his name above the pop I would NEVER have guessed that it was him. I think it’s a pretty poor likeness of him.

We’ve got 2 new ad icons on the way too, although being from the UK I don’t actually know who they are. There is Jack in disguise for Jack in the Box and Crunchberry Beast which is actually the only announcement which is a Soda Figure rather than a pop.

Finally for now there are 2 anime characters in the form of Super Saiyan God Goku from Dragonball Z and Bakugo from My Hero Academia… I think it’s a shame that their poses are so similar though – cool looking pops never the less.

How do you like the announcements to far? I do quite like those toucans, but how do you feel about the Steve Aoki… Do you think it looks like him?

I'm a collector of pop culture items, with by far my biggest collection being in excess of 1,200 DVDs (yeah I still stay old school - can't wrap my head around the whole streaming thing yet), as well as various figures and Memorabilia (with most of these being McFarlane Walking Dead 5 inch figures, Funko Pop and Funko Pint Size Heroes, with a few other exceptions too). I'm a massive nerd and giant child at heart so feel free to have a chat about anything toy and movie related. My biggest movie passions are horror by far (especially slasher and zombie), sci fi and to a lesser extent action and comedy.
