Nerd News: This Weeks Secret Sofa Event – Groundhog Day

Last week Secret cinema ran their first stay at home event in the form of a Secret Sofa event fro the Grand Budapest Hotel, which looks like it had an awesome response on their social media, as you can see below. It involved people in their own homes getting dressed up, dancing, eating suggested foods and all enjoying the same Haagen-Dazs icecream… I’m not interested in the film, but it was a great idea!

The Secret Cinema fans are very dedicated anyway so I can see why they have jumped on this awesome activity to do at home. Especially if you’re in isolation it gives you a few days worth of planning and creating to keep you busy!

This week is another film event which I am not interested in myself and that is Groundhog Day. I’ve never seen it and it doesn’t really appeal to me so I’m not planning on making this week my first week of watching the film. You can see the trailer here:

I’ve just watched the trailer again, and yeah I’m really not interested in this one, but each to their own, I’m really looking forward to seeing what people do to prepare for it!

Make sure to sign up for their newsletter below to make sure you don’t miss out on future events… they’re doing this every week at the moment!

So, we know the film is Groundhog Day, and like last week they want everyone to watch the film together at 19:30 on Friday 24th April. To go with the theme, you’re covering this event for the news network so they want you dressed smart – think news anchor or weather presenter! And to top it off, and this I am interested in! they want you to have my favorite Haagen-Dazs icecream on the go… Pralines and Cream!

I want you to sign up and make this a success for an amazing company – it doesn’t cost you anything… depending on how far you want to go with your participation. So I’m not going to give away anything else but they recommend some recipes for you, give you some other online activities to get involved in and see, whilst also telling you how you can interact online!

Sign up and do something interesting with your Friday night television schedule!

I'm a collector of pop culture items, with by far my biggest collection being in excess of 1,200 DVDs (yeah I still stay old school - can't wrap my head around the whole streaming thing yet), as well as various figures and Memorabilia (with most of these being McFarlane Walking Dead 5 inch figures, Funko Pop and Funko Pint Size Heroes, with a few other exceptions too). I'm a massive nerd and giant child at heart so feel free to have a chat about anything toy and movie related. My biggest movie passions are horror by far (especially slasher and zombie), sci fi and to a lesser extent action and comedy.
