Nerd News: Jada Pinkett Smith Returning for Matrix 4?

Talk of a 4th Matrix movie have been rife for some time now and confirmations were made that the film series would be getting a re-visit with Keanu Reeves returning as Neo and Trinity again being played by Carrie-Ann Moss. These two names are two of the best pieces of news about the film, with the other being that it is again being Wachowski lead, although only with Lana at the helm and Lilly giving it a miss due to other engagements and an apparent lack of interest in sci-fi work at this time of her life, preferring to focus on work which looks at social issues.

I for one am very much looking forward to seeing the Matrix hit the screen again (presumably in around 2022 accoridng to IMDB who also state that the cast is currently confirmed to also include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who is thought to maybe play a young version of Morpheus, although this hasn’t been confirmed… Could any one play Morpheus as well as Laurence Fishbourne? and also Neil Patrick Harris in an as yet unannounced role). However it was also announced by Deadline that Jada Pinkett Smith would be returning as Niobe.

It looks like the film is putting together a nice cast of original trilogy cast members and having at least half of the genius Wachowski sisters again at the helm, so let’s see how far down the rabbit hole this project might lead us… I’m looking forward to hearing more about the plot as soon as they start to announce these details.

I'm a collector of pop culture items, with by far my biggest collection being in excess of 1,200 DVDs (yeah I still stay old school - can't wrap my head around the whole streaming thing yet), as well as various figures and Memorabilia (with most of these being McFarlane Walking Dead 5 inch figures, Funko Pop and Funko Pint Size Heroes, with a few other exceptions too). I'm a massive nerd and giant child at heart so feel free to have a chat about anything toy and movie related. My biggest movie passions are horror by far (especially slasher and zombie), sci fi and to a lesser extent action and comedy.
