Nerd News: New Kylo Ren Poster

We’re all counting down the days until 20th December 2019 when the Rise of Skywalker, the culmination of the Skywalker saga comes to an end… In fact saga doesn’t quite cut to the core of it – the Skywalker era comes to an end. An era is exactly what this has been, and it will be interesting which direction the franchise will take from here and whether the name really having its story completed.

Which ever way you look at it, we’re excited and even more so now that we have been teased with a new piece of promotional artwork which sees Kylo Ren, back in the mask (Hell yeah! One of the coolest masks in the Star wars universe and it didn’t get anywhere near enough screen time before) but looking battered and torn up. However does the Darth Vader mask in his cape give us a nod at something in the movie or is it just a nostalgic artistic nod at the greatest or certainly most iconic movie villain of all time?

A second poster along with his unmistakable voice in one of the most recent teasers also confirms the return of Palpatine, but how will he fit in to the story… With his return it’s not a stretch to think that Vader might also return in a flashback or in spirit form (especially as we also hear his breathing in the same clip – and why would he need his breathing apparatus if he was in spirit form)… We can only keep our fingers, toes and nipples crossed! It’s about time Darth Vader made an appearance in another film, and if this really is the closure of the Skywalker story, then this will be the last chance for them to shoe horn him in!

Either way the posters and teasers are making us all salivate at the chance of seeing this movie just before Christmas!

I'm a collector of pop culture items, with by far my biggest collection being in excess of 1,200 DVDs (yeah I still stay old school - can't wrap my head around the whole streaming thing yet), as well as various figures and Memorabilia (with most of these being McFarlane Walking Dead 5 inch figures, Funko Pop and Funko Pint Size Heroes, with a few other exceptions too). I'm a massive nerd and giant child at heart so feel free to have a chat about anything toy and movie related. My biggest movie passions are horror by far (especially slasher and zombie), sci fi and to a lesser extent action and comedy.
